ポートランド留学中のM.K.さんより、New Yorkを訪問した時の様子が届きました。大都市ニューヨークを満喫したようです。

We arrived at Newark airport but it was a little bit far from our hotel and we thought about taking a bus and train. The transportation system was very difficult to understand even after asking the staff, so in the end we took Uber.

After that we went to Times Square and Broadway. Times Square was very shiny and bright. I could feel the New York atmosphere there. After that, we watched Phantom of the Opera. It was so impressive and breathtaking.

Next day we went to the Metropolitan Museum, the 9.11 Memorial and M&M's factory. The Metropolitan Museum was really big, so it took a long time to go around. We tried to use the subway to go to the 9.11 memorial. However, the system was so complex and although there were signboards like in Japan's train stations, the NY ones were difficult to understand, so we lost a lot of time to go there. The memorial was amazing though. It's very similar to the Hiroshima Peace Memorial. There were many sad pictures and video, so I was at a loss for words. On the last day, we visited the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn Bridge.

This trip was a good experience for me to learn many new things. (M.K.)
